I asked Bo if ze wanted a little Borra fic, and this eventually came to off what ze said. I hope you like it!

The second Korra heard the words through the phone, she was out the door, grabbing the glider Tenzin had given her after passing her airbending test, and flying through the night sky. She flew over the bay, away from Air Temple Island, towards Republic City, her heart going a mile a minute. When she finally landed, she had to remind herself to breathe.

She ran down the street towards the hospital, bypassing the nurses asking her to walk and ignoring the security guard who attempted to slow her down. She gently flicked her wrist and smiled when she heard him hit the ground.

She rushed into the emergency room, where the head nurse met her with questioning eyes.

“Can I help you, Avatar?” the man asked, and Korra searched the beds frantically.

“Here you go, ma’am,” the vendor smiles at her and hands her a bag of steaming dumplings.

“Thank you so much.” She grabs the bag and is on her way.

Bolin was graduating from the police academy today and she wanted to surprise him with his favorite treat, he deserved it after all his hard work. She could not be more proud of him; he had come so far in such a short amount of time.  He was officially joining the police force under Chief Beifong and Korra had a feeling he would eventually be taking over for her if the way Lin talked was any indication. There he is, standing around talking with some of his fellow graduates, fully suited up in his new uniform. He looks fantastic and Korra feels the pride swell in her chest again. That’s my boyfriend.

“Hey!” she pokes him in the back.

He turns around, smiling, “Korra!”

“Congratulations!” she says.

“On what?” he grins, his eyes glinting mischievously.

She cocks her head at him and shakes her head, “You know what.”

“Oh, something happened today, what was it? Hmm, oh wait, I know, I officially joined Chief Beifong’s police force.” He says, tapping his metal covered chest.

“Congratulations, Mr. Metalbender, Councilman Mako sends his regards.” She holds out the bag of dumplings.

“Oh,” he takes the bag and looks inside, “my favorite! Thanks, babe!”

“You’re welcome, you deserve it, and you have been working so hard! I’m proud of you.” She blushes, still not used to expressing herself like this even after a year and half of dating Bolin.

He smiles at her and leans in for a kiss, which she gladly gives him.

bolins-suit:

Korra is not really sure how it happens, one minute she and Bolin are hanging out, laughing about their latest prank on Mako and the new girl he’s dating, the next she has her hand on the back of his neck, closing the gap between them. She’s kissing him, she’s kissing Bolin, and she has a moment of panic as she feels him stiffen beneath her lips.  She pulls back and looks at him, his eyes are full of trepidation and fear because last time he let his feelings slip with her he got his heart broken into a million pieces.

“I love you, Bolin.” She smiles, her eyes soften, and there is no hesitation in her voice.

His eyes widen, “Really?”

She nods never breaking eye contact, “Yes.”

He grins, bigger than she’s ever seen, “I love you too, Korra.”

Their lips connect again and Korra feels something grow in her chest, warm, this is real love

korra-the-leaf:

“Tell me a story, daddy.”

“Well what do you want to hear?”

“How you and mommy met.”

“You’ve heard that story at least ten times. Don’t you want to hear about how I fought off the equalists with the help of my friends? Or maybe that time we saved Ba Sing Se from-“

“No. I want my story.”

“Alright sweetheart. If you insist.”

“Once upon a time, there was the smartest, funniest, toughest, buffest, talentest, incrediblest girl in the world…”

Whoo! That was a long one. This was the prompt by yokokins, which I snagged and wrote. Little heated at the end, but not too saucy. :D Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy! I don’t know if I’ll be able to get another one up tonight before I go to work. But here’s hoping!

“Alright, up for another round?”

Bolin watched Korra suppress a yawn and nod her agreement as Mako reshuffled the deck.

Prompt: “Just out of the Ring” Borra prompt from a lovely anon :D I hope you enjoy it anon!

                                                 _______________

“Gah, I can still feel the adrenaline pumping!”

Bolin grinned as Korra tossed her helmet off, fists pumping in the air. The match had been pretty intense and thanks to some quick thinking, they had managed to pull off a come from  behind victory against the Tigerdillos. Korra spun around as soon as they stepped off the moving platform. Mako shook his head. “Don’t get too cocky. We’ve still got several more matches to go before the tournament.” He told her as he sat down on the bench to cool off. Asami came through a few seconds later and Korra swept her up in a hug, making the girl blink in surprise though a laugh escaped her. “You guys were amazing!” Asami, as soon as she was let go, moved to wrap her arms around Mako’s neck and give him a kiss on the cheek.

“I know right? Did you see Bolin’s disc hit behind the knees? Genius!” Korra rushed up to Bolin, fingers grasping his shirt and shaking him lightly. “I’m just so happy I could just…kiss you!” For half a second, Bolin thought she was joking.

So imagine his shock when her lips landed on his, her energy and passion shooting through her and into him. His hands reacted before his brain could kick in, gripping the sides of her face and pulling her even closer. She didn’t seem to mind because her own hands pulled at his shirt and her tongue darted out and into his mouth, both of them clashing. Teeth knocked as their kiss deepened to the point where Mako yelled, “Get a room!”

They didn’t hear him.

They broke apart gasping for air a few seconds later, eyes staring at each other intently. “Did we just?”  Bolin started. “I think we did.” Korra finished. A silence passed for a couple of moments before Korra smirked.

“I think we should do it again.”

“Oh yeah?”

“Oh yeah.”

How adorable!

Thirty day prompt challenge: Beginning

Jinora watches.

She watches the young Avatar as she tries to airbend, her anger rising as she goes. There’s frustration in her muscles and pain in her face as she sits in defeat. Her head ends up in her hands, and Jinora bites the inside of her cheek. Slowly, she decides to go over to the Avatar. She sits down next to her. It’s quiet, and then Korra speaks.

“I just want to airbend,” she confesses softly, and Jinora nods.

“I just want to be able to do what your father does, what you do. Even what Meelo and Ikki do, just be able to master this element and everything it means,” the words spill out of the teenagers mouth, in a hurried intensity that seems to lift weight off her already tense shoulders, and Jinora smiles.

“You’re the reincarnation of my grandpa,” she states, and Korra looks up.

“I know which is-” Jinora cuts her off.

“We all have our struggles. We all have challenges we must face, and try to overcome. Grandpa Aang was a great airbender, and he became a waterbender quickly. However, he struggled with earth, his natural opposite, and fire, mainly because he was afraid of burning someone as he did Grandma Katara when he first tried.”

“The point is, he didn’t find it easy either. Sure, he saved the world and all of that stuff,” Korra glared at Jinora, “but he struggled too. It’s going to be okay.”

Korra looks down at the small girl next to her. She lets out a long breath, and smiles.

“You’re a wise child,” she smirks, and Jinora shrugs.

“I watch, and learn.”

They sit in silence for a second before Korra reaches over and wraps her arm around Jinora’s shoulders, squeezing. Jinora puts her arms around Korra’s waist, and smiles.

“Thank you, Jinora,” Korra breathes softly, and Jinora just grins.

Their friendship begins.

For Raye, because I love her dearly.

Bolin sits on the dock with all of his focus on the water. The sun shines brightly overhead and beats down on his bare shoulders. His legs swing under him, just barely touching the water. He’s tempted to get in, but he’s not ready yet. He’s watching his companion as she splashes around in the water. She looks over at him, and pouts.

“Will you just get in already?” she laughs, and he offers her a smile.

“I’m out of my element,” he jokes, and she offers him a non-amused smile. She swims over to the dock, and pulls herself up so her arms are rested on the dock next to him.

“Come on, enjoy the little break. Pema is distracting the kids and Tenzin let me skip training today. Enjoy it,” she nudges him, and he just smiles at her. He watches her slip back into the water, and just as he’s about to slip in himself, she grabs his leg and pulls him down into the water. He gasps as he hits the cold water, and when he surfaces she’s smirking at him.

“Why, why would you do that,” he states, swimming towards her. She’s obviously a superior swimmer, but he catches her legs and pulls her towards him. She’s laughing at him, and it bounces off the water and the dock and makes him grin.

“Because you were taking too long!” she shrieks as he lifts her up in the water and throws her backwards. She splashes gracefully into the water, disappearing from his view. She doesn’t resurface, but something grabs his leg and pulls him under. She’s got a hold on him with the water, and she tugs him a bit before letting him go.

“That’s not fair,” he says as he resurfaces, and she gives him another smirk. She kicks backwards in the water, a rush of water hitting his head. He frowns at her as she laughs.

“You started it,” she yells at him, as she’s far away from him now. He kicks off and swims over to her, stopping right in front of her.

“No, you did,” he counters, and she shakes her head at him. She reaches out in the water and pulls herself over to him, her hands grasping his biceps.

“Yeah, okay, I did. I confess,” she teases, and he shakes his head at her.

“Do you want to be thrown again?” he asks, and she purses her lips.

“Yeah, kinda,” she smiles, and he shakes his head again. He reaches down for her feet, and as she jumps, he pushes, and she flies out of the water and into the air. Her laughter echoes through the air right before she hits the water, and he watches the splash that follows her.

His face softens as she resurfaces, a huge grin on her face. She begins to swim back to him, surely for another toss into the air.

And while he knows she could just as easily do this herself, he’s happy to just to hear her laugh as she flies up into the air.

Monday

“Okay, so now we add the salt?”

“Wait, was that supposed to be before or after we poured the water?”

They hover over the stove, peering into the pot distrustfully. They are two of the bravest and boldest heroes, the talk of the town, a sly-smiling pair bards write poetry about—and yet here they stand, he in a checkered apron, she in one of his sleeveless shirts, utterly defeated by a pot of noodles.

“Korra, oh spirits, it’s boiling over!”

What?”

It’s their first week in the new apartment; half-opened boxes and surprises abound. One of these surprises is the unfortunate discovery that neither of them knows the first thing about cooking.

“What do I do?”

“Don’t look at me!”

Korra!

She grabs the pot and dumps it into the sink with a huff.

“What was that, Korra? Why’d you just throw it in the sink?”

“I panicked, okay!”

Bolin bites his lip. “Maybe we need more practice.”
